A 33-year-old South Dakota man has been accused of killing his 43-year-old wife. Then he asked a judge for bond so he could properly mourn the woman he allegedly murdered.
On Jan. 22, police said 33-year-old Dreau Rogers called for an ambulance and when they arrived at the house in Spearfish, South Dakota, they found 43-year-old Destiny Rogers laying on the living room floor with a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to the Spearfish Monument Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, KOTA reported.
When talking to police, Dreau Rogers said Destiny Rogers was shot by another man during an argument between that man and Dreau Rogers. He claims she was hit while she was standing behind Dreau Rogers.
Authorities said they talked with the other man, who happened to have an alibi along with text messages and pictures showing he was in another location at the time the shooting took place.

During his court appearance, Dreau Rogers asked for bond so he could mourn the death of his wife properly and to be a part of the funeral, according to the report.
The judge ordered him to be held without bond.
