Sexual Assault Suspect in Philadelphia Sent to Hospital After Victim Fights Back With Machete, Cops Say

A Philadelphia man has been taken into custody after an alleged sexual assault victim fought back with a machete during an attack at a hotel, according to authorities.
On the morning of July 30, police said a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted by a 43-year-old man inside a Philadelphia hotel.
During the alleged attack, police said, the victim hit the man in the head with a machete.
Further details about the incident were not released.

The man, whose name has not been released, is said to be in stable condition at a local hospital, where he is being treated, WTXF-TV reported.
The victim was also taken to a nearby hospital, but her condition is not known.
The machete has been recovered and police said an investigation is underway by the Special Victims Unit.
