Texas Man Sexually Assaulted Girl, 12, Before Killing 3 Teenagers, Himself In Suspected Murder-Suicide: Sheriff
A man is suspected of killing three teenagers and then himself at a Texas home in what authorities believe was a murder-suicide.
On Feb. 18, the Galena Park Police Department responding to a home about a shooting found the bodies of three teenage girls, ages 13, 14, and 19, as well as a 37-year-old man with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, KHOU reported.
The three teenagers were all shot to death, Harris County Sheriff Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.
According to the sheriff, a fight broke out between the man and several of the girls around 10:30 p.m.
“He then proceeded to sexually assault a 12-year-old that was inside the residence,” Gonzalez told KHOU. “After that, he told her to go ahead and run from the house ... she did so and ran out of the residence without any clothing.”
Before fleeing the home and going to a neighbor’s home for help, the child was able to grab her 1-year-old niece.
The mother of two of the teenagers was reportedly in a relationship with the adult male and not at home at the time of the deadly incident, according to KPRC.
According to Sheriff Gonzalez, the 19-year-old victim may have been pregnant when she was killed. He also noted the man was not the father of any of the victims.
“It's just a tragic situation. It makes no sense, it's all senseless, and it's very tragic,” Gonzalez said. “But our investigators will try to put all the pieces together and our condolences go out to the victim's families and everyone impacted by this and the entire city as well.”
