Wife of music exec gunned down in her Beverly Hills home, police hunt for suspects: reports
The wife of a music executive was shot to death in her Beverly Hills home as police continue to hunt for the suspect, according to officials and media reports.
Jacqueline Avant was shot and killed on Dec. 1 at a Beverly Hills home, according to Deadline. Police have not confirmed Avant is the victim but did report they responded to a shooting. Avant is the wife of Clarence Avant.
She is also the mother to Nicole Avant, who is married to Netflix Co-CEO Ted Sarandos.
According to Beverly Hills police, officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Maytor Place around 2:30 a.m.
There, officers found the victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to a hospital but died from her injuries, according to Beverly Hills police.
The suspects were no longer at the home when police arrived, officials said. Detectives continue to investigate, and police are expected to provide an update to the public later on Dec. 1.
“The City of Beverly Hills and the Beverly Hills Police Department extends our deepest sympathies to the victim’s families,” officials wrote in an announcement about the investigation.
Clarence Avant is also known by the nickname “The Black Godfather” and is a music executive and film producer. He has a working relationship with Bill Withers, Dennis Coffey and a host of others.
