‘Unfathomable Loss’: Family Mourns Death Of ‘Radiant’ New Hampshire Woman Shot In Head
Police arrested a suspect in the case of a 23-year-old New Hampshire woman who was killed in New Hampshire.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 30, police in Jackson responding to the report of a person shot at the Dana Place Apartments found Esmae Doucette with a gunshot wound to the head, WMUR reported.
Doucette was rushed to Memorial Hospital in North Conway, where she succumbed to her injuries two days later.
Brandon Mitchel, 22, l was arrested in connection with the shooting and now faces a charge of second-degree murder, the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office said.
He was being held without bond.
“We're not in a position to discuss their specific relationship, we are still investigating all the circumstances that were leading up to this incident,” Assistant Attorney General Scott Chase said of the case.
Doucette’s family released a statement through the Jackson Police Department about their loss.
“We are devastated by the sudden and shocking death of our radiant daughter and sister. It is an unfathomable loss of a young woman full of warmth and generosity. Esmae had an enthusiastic zest for life and an infectious laugh and was a friend to all who knew her,” family said, adding thanks to emergency responder and hospital staff as well as the area community “for wrapping us in love and caring for our girl so well.”
