Duo arrested in connection to fatal shooting at SC bar on New Year's Eve, police said
Two people have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting at a South Carolina bar on New Year’s Eve, according to reports.
Around 2 a.m. on Dec. 31, deputies from the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to the El Gordo Bar. When deputies arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound, according to WSPA.
The victim was identified as Jose Luis Perez, 32. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to WSPA.
Police said the victim and another man had an argument before the shooting.
Deputies arrested two people in connection to the shooting. Elder Ramirez Escobar, 26, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Escobar was arrested at a hotel room in North Carolina, according to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Tiffany Dawn McAbee, 37, was also arrested and charged with accessory after the fact, police said. Deputies say she helped Escobar after the shooting.
