A man in South Carolina has been arrested after he went on an “afternoon crime spree” that allegedly including stabbing his acquaintance in the back with a pocketknife, authorities said.
Around 2 p.m. on Oct. 8, Jeremy Alan Boone, 30, allegedly stole from a Publix grocery store in Columbia, according to the Forest Acres Police Department.
Officers determined Boone committed the theft while in a vehicle he used for his job, so they were able to verify his identity through his employer.
Shortly afterwards, the vehicle Boone was operating was involved in a crash and the suspect reportedly walked to the Brickyard Condominiums, where an acquaintance lives, officials said.
While at his friend’s place, authorities said Boone allegedly got into a fight with the condominium resident and stabbed him in the back with a pocketknife.
The victim claimed Boone next grabbed a firearm and pointed it at him, but the gun wasn't loaded.
Boone then took the victim’s car and fled the area, police said.
Forest Acres Police Chief Don Robinson noted: “Miraculously, the victim survived the ordeal with only minor injuries.”
