Man Who Police Say Fatally Shot A Pregnant Woman At Hotel Arrested: Report
A man who police say fatally shot a pregnant woman in a South Carolina hotel last week was arrested, according to a report.
WSAZ reported that Michael Unique Washington Jr., 19, was arrested this week in connection to the homicide and is charged with murder, death of a child in utero during the commission of a violent crime and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
His charges are in connection to the shooting death of Katherine Calloway, 23, who called and told police she was shot several times at a Greenville, South Carolina Days Inn motel, according to WSAZ.
Calloway was taken to the hospital, where she died the next day. According to arrest warrants, she was 12 weeks pregnant at the time she was killed, WSAZ reported.
On June 2, Washington Jr. was arrested a week after the killing. He is being held in jail with no bond, according to WSAZ.
Police are still investigating to find a motive, though they said they don't believe the suspect knew the victim before they met at the hotel that night, WSAZ reported.
