San Antonio Teen Who Caused Commotion In Dollar Store Admits To Officers He Killed Autistic Man, Cops Say
A homeless teenager who caused a commotion at a San Antonio dollar store wound up confessing to the murder of an autistic man, police say.
Sebastian Segovia, 19, was arrested March 18 and charged with capital murder.
Police waited on Segovia outside a Dollar Tree after he reportedly caused a disturbance and left. When Segovia returned, police said he threw rocks at officers and their squad cars. One rock reportedly was the size of a baseball.
Segovia tried to flee, but was arrested. After that, Segovia reportedly told police he had a confession to make.
Segovia was caught carrying a lock-blade knife. He allegedly admitted using it to stab a man sitting outside an apartment complex office Feb. 23, according to police.
Robert Hurley, 37, died from three stab wounds to the neck, authorities said. He was found in nearby bushes. His death became a local Crime Stoppers case.
The Houston Chronicle reports Segovia noted Hurley saying ”I’m sorry” in an unusual way during the stabbing. It turns out Hurley reportedly was autistic.
Segovia claimed he took Hurley’s wallet, but later burned it with its contents in a ditch.
KSAT-TV reported Segovia was held Monday on $750,000 bond.
