Florida Man Accused of Murder After Future Stepfather Dies Months After Getting Punched During Argument: Police
A Florida man is now accused of murder after his mother’s fiancé died months following an argument during which he got punched, authorities said.
An aggravated battery charge against Michael Wood, 26, was upgraded to a second-degree murder charge after Kenneth McMurray died from injuries suffered when he hit his head, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
According to police, Woods got into a dispute with his future stepfather outside their St. Petersburg home on April 10 and punched McMurray in the head twice with a closed fist.
McMurray was knocked unconscious and hit his head on the sidewalk after falling backward. He suffered severe brain bleed, an affidavit obtained by the Tampa Bay Times states.
