Stranger Punches 1-Year-Old North Carolina Boy in Face as Mother Watches in Horror: Police

A North Carolina man has been arrested after he allegedly punched a 1-year-old baby he did not know in the face while the mother watched, according to authorities.
Around 11:40 a.m. on June 4, officers responded to a report of an assault on a child in Charlotte, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said.
According to authorities, the suspect, later identified as 26-year-old Rico Limon Williams, hit the baby in the face with a closed fist, causing minor injuries.
Bystanders and witnesses helped police, who were able to quickly arrest Williams in connection with the incident, officials said.

Williams was charged with assault on a child under 12 and is being held on $125,000 bond, according to authorities.
The 1-year-old boy was taken to Levine Children’s Hospital for medical treatment, but has been released, officials said.
