South Carolina Woman ‘Always Friendly With Everyone’ Found Dead In Abandoned Home, Acquaintance Arrested: Cops
A South Carolina man is accused of strangling a recent acquaintance to death and leaving her body in an abandoned home.
On July 2, authorities found 69-year-old Susan Elaine Donald dead inside the house located on the same block in Greenville where she lived, WSPA reported.
An autopsy determined Donald died from asphyxia due to strangulation.
Police took Ricky Dick McCullough, 63, into custody on July 5 and charged him with Donald’s murder as well as first-degree criminal sexual conduct, according to WSPA.
He was being held at the Greenville County Detention Center.
“It’s obviously a hard conversation to have and even harder to say it was done at the hands of another person, but they seem to be a close family and are taking care of each other,” Deputy Coroner Jenn Cason said of Donald’s loved ones.
Neighbors noted the victim was well liked in the area.
“She was always friendly with everyone, a very nice person, and always spoke,” Barbara Barton told Greenville News.
