A Florida man was shot and killed by police after he allegedly murdered and dismembered his roommate and then came outside with a knife in one hand and a body part in the other, according to authorities.
Around 11:30 p.m. on June 9, officers responded to a home in Fort Myers and found a woman and two small children hiding in the carport, according to the local police department.
The woman told officers her husband, identified as 33-year-old Willy Lumaine, was “actively killing their roommate” inside a nearby home, officials said.
Officers went to that residence and said they spotted “an open door and blood trail.”
The officers established a perimeter and yelled for anyone inside to come out. Lumaine, according to officials, approached a back window and broke it out with a large knife.
Law enforcement officials said cops were giving verbal commands for Lumaine to drop the knife, which is when “he climbed out of the window holding the knife in one hand and what appeared to be a dismembered body part in the other.”

Lumaine allegedly ignored commands and refused to drop the knife, so cops opened fire, striking the man, officials said.
Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
