A New York man was taken into custody after law enforcement officials claim he stabbed his parents in their sleep and then chased them out of the house to continue the assault.
During the evening of Feb. 24, Joshua Wilck, 24, went into the Long Island bedroom of his 64-year-old mother and 60-year-old father and attacked them with a knife, according to court records obtained by News 12 Long Island.
His parents tried to flee Wilck, but he followed them outside and wrapped his arms around one of the victim’s neck, the court records show.
Officers responded to the scene and subdued Wilck before taking him into custody.
Authorities said the parents were listed in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
Wilck was charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, aggravated criminal contempt, criminal possession of a weapon, and resisting arrest, said law enforcement officials, who did not provide a possible motive in the case.
