Teen accused of killing two people during a shooting in North Carolina

An 18-year-old man has been arrested on murder charges in Rockingham, North Carolina, in connection to a shooting that left two dead.

Evann Jaqueez Taylor was admitted to the Richmond County Jail on Nov. 29, according to jail records obtained by the Richmond County Daily Journal.

Det. Clint Neeley confirmed to the Richmond County Daily Journal that the shooting took place around 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 at the 74 Car Wash on East Broad Avenue.

Taylor is the only suspect in the shooting, according to the Richmond County Daily Journal.

No other injuries were reported at the scene, and the victims’ names have not yet been released, the Richmond County Daily Journal reported.

“Everything is still under investigation,” Neeley said, according to the Richmond County Daily Journal.

Taylor is being held without bond, and is set to appear in District Court on Dec. 16, the Richmond County Daily Journal reported.

In a post in the Richmond Senior High School Facebook group, Ashleigh Buie, a teacher at the school, states that two students passed away on Nov. 28, according to the Richmond County Daily Journal.

Law enforcement has not confirmed whether the victims were students at the high school, the Richmond County Daily Journal reported.

“Yesterday, our Raider family lost two of our own,” the post reads, according to the Richmond County Daily Journal. “We are devastated by the loss of our students. This tragedy impacts us all and as we mourn this tragedy we want our students to know we are here for them. Counselors will be available Tuesday for students who need to talk. Please help us lift up these families in your thoughts and prayers.”
