Arizona Teen ‘Upset Over His Upbringing' Hatched Plan to Shoot His Parents, Cops Say

A teen in Arizona was allegedly unhappy with his childhood, so he shot his parents, authorities claim.
Around 5:30 a.m. on May 13, police received a call from one of the victims stating that her son had shot her and her husband, according to court documents obtained by KTVK-TV.
When officers arrived at the scene in Chandler, they found the son, 19-year-old Jeremiah Blair, in the driveway and he surrendered, according to the Chandler Police Department.
Court records allege that Blair admitted to shooting his parents, saying he had been “upset over his upbringing.”
According to the documents, the teenager told police that he allegedly believed he was “not treated as he should have been as a child.”
The documents allege Blair had planned to kill his parents for years, and he brainstormed ways to kill them before deciding on using a handgun he had hidden in his closet.
He initially planned the shooting for Mother’s Day, but he instead shot his parents the following morning instead, officials said.
Around 1 a.m. on May 13, Blair is accused of placing a camera in the kitchen to record the attempted killing, waiting for his parents to wake up, and ambushing his father as he came downstairs.
Blair allegedly shot him before going upstairs and shooting his mother once, authorities said.
While Blair reportedly believed he had killed one of his parents, both of them survived. They were transported to a hospital and remain in stable condition. Neither of them needed surgery.
