Virginia 18-Year-Old Allegedly Fatally Shot Another Teenager, Injured Second Victim: Police
A teenager in Virginia was taken into custody after he allegedly shot two people, killing one, police said.
Around 5:20 p.m. on Dec. 11, police in Virginia Beach received a report of a shooting after two people were transported to Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital suffering gunshot wounds, WAVY-TV reported.
One of the two shooting victims, identified as 18-year-old Evan Labella, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, whose identity has not been released, is expected to survive injuries to the lower extremities of their body.
After an investigation, detectives arrested the alleged shooter, Cameron Mooty, 18, and charged him with multiple crimes, including second-degree murder, aggravated assault and using a firearm in the commission of a felony, according to WAVY-TV.
Police have not released further details about the case, including a possible motive for the shooting.
