Texas Teenager Accused Of Double Homicide Turns Himself In To Authorities
A 17-year-old is in custody in Texas after he was accused of the murder of two other teenagers, authorities said.
On Jan. 23, three days after Gainesville police identified Samuel Gary Lee King as a suspect in the slayings of Antonio Delgado, 19, and a 16-year-old juvenile, the teenager turned himself in to authorities shortly before 9:30 a.m.
A week earlier, around 6:22 p.m. on Jan 16, Delgado and the 16-year-old were found shot near a silver-colored truck, KXII reported.
The pair were rushed to an area hospital, where they both were pronounced dead from their injuries.
At the time, Gainesville police chief Kevin Phillips said investigators believed the shooting “resulted from a disturbance or an altercation” between the two victims and the shooter.
Officials have not released further details about the alleged dispute.
One employee at a business near the crime scene reported seeing a black car take off following the shooting, and detectives obtained surveillance video footage in the area, according to KXII.
King was being held on $1 million bond at the Cooke County Justice Center.
