Three children found living in 'deplorable conditions' including dog feces covering the floor, Tennessee police say
Three children lived in a home where the floors were covered in dog feces, and now a woman faces criminal charges, police said.
On Oct. 14, deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in Tennessee responded to an apartment to help the Department of Children’s Services with a neglect investigation. When police arrived, they found three small children living in “deplorable conditions,” according to the sheriff’s office.
Police say the floors were covered with dog feces and the other living conditions were extremely poor.
The home appeared to be a safety hazard to the children, according to the sheriff’s office.
Destiney Smith, 24, was charged with three counts of child abuse and neglect. She was released after posting $30,000 bond.
