Man Overdosed On Drugs In June 2021, A Year Later Police Say They Charged The Alleged Dealer With Murder
A man overdosed on drugs in Tennessee, and nearly a year later, police in Tennessee say they charged his alleged dealer with murder.
On June 10, 2021, police in Clarksville, Tennessee, responded to a home for a person not breathing. When officers arrived, they found a 34-year-old man unresponsive. The victim’s name has not been released by police.
First responded tried to give aid and the victim was taken to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
An autopsy showed the victim died from acute drug intoxication, including Fentanyl. Fentanyl is an opioid that is often mixed with other drugs to enhance the effects.
Investigators identified Angela Darlene Brown, 45, as the person who provided the drugs, according to police. This week she was arrested an indicted on a charge of second-degree murder.
“Drug overdoses have reached epidemic proportions and we have to take a stand and hold those who distribute the drugs accountable for their actions,” District Attorney Robert Nash said in an announcing of the charges.
