Man accused of killing his fiancee and then fleeing to another state, apprehended a day later
A man is accused of killing his fiancée then fleeing to another state, but police have not released a motive for the alleged murder.
Around 4 p.m. on Feb. 6, police in Cookeville, Tennessee, responded to an apartment complex for a welfare check.
When officers arrived, they found 23-year-old Lyndzy Bounds unresponsive, according to Cookeville police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators determined her death was a homicide.
An investigation started and her fiancé Christian Luna was identified as a suspect. Police did not say how Bounds was killed or what led them to identify Luna as a suspect. They also didn’t release a motive.
Police got a warrant for first-degree murder against Luna.
On Feb. 7, Luna was arrested in Louisiana. He is awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
