Woman Shot Dead Near Her Place of Work In 2021, Police Arrest Suspect Nearly A Year Later

A woman was gunned down at her workplace nearly a year ago and now one suspect has been arrested.

Police say more arrests are expected in the case.

Sharon Gillespie was shot outside her place of employment, The Summit of Lawrenceburg, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, on April 13, 2021. Police have spent the last year investigating the case.

Investigators did not say why she was targeted in the shooting.

Nearly a year later, Brandon Waire was arrested in connection the case. He was charged with first-degree murder, criminal homicide, attempted especially aggravated robbery and criminal conspiracy to sell schedule II narcotics.

He was arrested on April 5 and is being held in jail on $1 million bond.
