Tennessee man assaults and rapes parole officer during home visit, police say

A 31-year-old Tennessee man overpowered his parole officer during a check-up where he assaulted and raped her, police say.
According to authorities, Antonio Taylor, 31, overpowered his parole officer, stole her gun, pinned her down and repeatedly beat and sexually assaulted her.
Taylor held the parole officer at gunpoint during the physical and sexual assault and beat her with the weapon during the attack, Fox 13 reported.
At some point, the woman escaped and notified police of the attack, officials said.
At that point, a standoff ensued between Taylor and law enforcement, authorities said. But, the standoff ended and the suspect was arrested.
After the parole officer escaped, she was taken to a local hospital, police said.
Officials said she suffered from cuts and bruises to her forehead, neck and both legs during the assault.
Taylor was arrested on June 18 and charged with three counts of aggravated rape, one count of aggravated kidnapping, one count of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm during a dangerous felony, one count of being a felon in possession of a handgun and one count of theft of property $1,000 or less, authorities said.
Officials stated Taylor was previously convicted of aggravated assault in 2009, which resulted in a four-year prison sentence.
