Suspect accused of shooting his brother in the head as he slept, Tennessee cops say
A man is accused of shooting his brother in the head as he slept and now faces a homicide charge, police said.
Police in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, responded to a home around 1:30 a.m. on March 10 for a shooting, according to News Channel 9.
The suspect was identified as Larry D. Jarrell and the victim was Michael Jarrell, 23, according to the report.
Police said Michael Jarrell and another person were asleep and that Larry shot at him from the foot of the bed, according to News Channel 9. The victim was hit in the head.
Larry Jarrell told officers that he was intoxicated after using marijuana and alcohol and while playing with guns, he shot his brother, News Channel 9 reported.
Authorities arrested Larry Jarrell and charged him with criminal homicide and reckless endangerment. Police also told News Channel 9 the shooting appeared to be accidental.
