Texas man arrested after woman found dead in her home with gunshot wound: cops

A Texas man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in her home following a shooting that left another person injured.

Around 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 30, a Wills Point officer received a dispatch call from the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office regarding an assault.

When the officer arrived on the scene, he found a man with a single gunshot wound, according to Wills Point police.

The victim was immediately treated by EMS and transported to a local hospital.

While conducting interviews, officers received information that led them to believe a second victim could be inside the home, according to police. During the search of the residence, they found a dead woman.

That victim's name has not been released

The investigation led to the arrest of Ryan Keith Collier, this week, police said. He has been charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon.

Investigators have not said if Collier knew the victims or a possible motive for the shooting.
