Man Confesses To Beating His 80-Year-Old Grandmother To Death, Texas Cops Say
An 80-year-old woman was found dead in her Texas home and her grandson admitted to being the killer, authorities said.
On April 9, deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a home for a welfare check. Family members said they went to check on Juduth Maydwell and could see through a window she was dead in the home.
Deputies went to the home and found Maydwell, who suffered numerous blunt force injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators learned that her grandson, Chad Maydwell, was wanted by the Grimes County Sheriff’s Office for aggravated assault of his father in March.
Witnesses also said Chad Maydwell was also near Juduth’s house on April 8.
Harris County deputies found Chad Maydwell on April 10 and he fled to the woods. He was caught by a K-9 unit.
During the arrest, Chad Maydwell admitted to assaulting his father and killing his grandfather, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police charged Chad Maydwell with capital murder and aggravated assault.
