Texas Man Accused of Murdering 2 Women in New Mexico Park, Kidnapping 10-Month-Old Baby
A 10-month-old girl in New Mexico has been found and a suspect is in custody after she was abducted Friday and her mother and another woman were found dead, police said.
The Clovis Police Department said officers responded to Ned Houk Park, about five miles north of Clovis, at around 4:26 p.m. on May 3 after a 911 caller reported finding two dead women.
Officers arrived to find the two women dead of apparent gunshot wounds next to a silver Dodge minivan. A 5-year-old girl was found nearby with a head injury.
The child was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and was later transferred to a Lubbock-area hospital, police said.
The deceased women were identified as Samantha Cisneros, who is reportedly the mother of both girls, and Taryn Allen, both 23 years old and from Texico.
Officers at the scene found an infant car seat, a stroller and a baby bottle. After searching the area and finding no sign of the baby, an Amber Alert was issued for the baby, Eleia Maria Torres.
In an update, Clovis Police said Eleia Maria Torres was located "through a collaborated law enforcement effort.” She was taken to a local hospital "as a precautionary measure."
The suspect in the case, Alek Isaiah Collins, was arrested at a home in Abilene, more than 250 miles from Clovis, and the baby was found there as well, Clovis Deputy Chief Trevor Thron said.
He is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault against a public servant while he awaits extradition to New Mexico, KTAB reported.
According to New Mexico 9th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Quentin Ray, he has also approved two counts of murder charges, two counts of child abuse and a single count of kidnapping against Collins.

Thron told reporters that investigators have turned up no evidence of a relationship between Collins and Cisneros and Allen but were still investigating. A motive has not been uncovered.
