Texas Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing 8-Year-Old Girl Over Months Is Behind Bars

A Texas man who is accused of sexually abusing a child over a four-month span was arrested recently.
Police in McAllen, Texas arrested Juan Daniel Maldonado on Dec. 24 on charges of sexual abuse; victim under 14, terroristic threat of family/household and criminal mischief, according to Hidalgo County Jail records.
Police say that on Dec. 14, the mother of the child told police that her 8-year-old daughter told her that a man had sexually abused her, according to court records.
The document stated that the 8-year-old girl told her mother that a man would touch her in a sexual manner and watch her in the shower.

Then, on Dec. 20, the girl told police that a man, later identified as Maldonado, was doing "weird stuff to her." Those actions included disrobing her and touching her private parts, according to court documents.
Court filings state that the abuse took place from approximately Aug. 1, 2022, to Nov. 1, 2022, in Mercedes and McAllen. It's unclear how the man had access to the girl.
Maldonado is in jail on $70,000 bond, according to ValleyCentral.
