A woman in Texas is accused of murdering her husband and then fleeing to Mexico.
But, authorities say the suspect was found and returned to the U.S.
Clara Ledward was wanted in connection to the murder of her husband Jacob Ledward in Odessa, Texas, on May 16. Early in the investigation, police learned Clara Ledward fled to Mexico, according to Odessa police.
Investigators have not said how Jacob Ledward died, but he was found dead in their home.
The FBI issued an unlawful flight to avoid prosecution arrest warrant, which allowed police to work with Mexican officials to arrest Clara Ledward.
On July 29, police found Clara Ledward in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Clara Ledward was shot during the effort to arrest her and had a non-life-threatening wound, according to Odessa police. She was taken to a hospital in America for care, where Odessa police took custody.
Authorities are now working to bring her back to Ector County to face prosecution in connection to her husband's death.
Clara Ledward faces charges of murder and tampering with physical evidence.
