A Texas woman was found dead at the same time her boyfriend went to the police station and admitted to killing her, according to authorities.
Around 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 11, the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office said officers responded to a call for assistance at a home in Rusk County, Texas.
According to the 911 caller, they found an unresponsive person at the home, officials said.
While officers were responding to the call, 53-year-old Jarvis Craig Simon arrived at the sheriff’s office and confessed to murdering his girlfriend, Shanique Denice Williams, police said.
Once officials arrived at the home, Williams' body was found and she was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Simon was arrested and charged with capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, officers said.
The investigation into the murder is ongoing, but officials said Simon allegedly tried to run over Williams with a vehicle a week before and a warrant was issued for him at that time, KLTV reported.
Police have not said what led to the troubles between the suspect or the victim. They also didn't say what led Simon to allegedly confess to the crime.
