21-year-old shot multiple times in Texas home, suspect accused of murder
A 21-year-old was shot in her home, and police say they have arrested the suspect in her killing.
Makayla Goodson was found shot in her home in the Thunderbird Point community of Camp County, Texas, on Nov. 5, according to the Camp County Sheriff’s Office. Her body was not found until the next morning.
Last week, deputies arrested Tyrek Neal, 23, in connection to her death. Investigators did not say if the victim knew the suspect. They also did not release a possible motive in the killing.
Neal was booked into the Camp County jail and charged with murder.
“This has been a cooperative effort between the Camp County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Rangers, the Jefferson Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Pittsburg Police Department, Texas game wardens and the Texas Highway Patrol,” Sheriff John Cortelyou said.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call (903) 856-6651.
