Police accuse one of murder, search for more suspects after intruder shot during robbery

One of the people who broke into a house to demand drugs was shot and killed, and now police say they have arrested one in connection to his death.

Officers in Pharr, Texas, continue to hunt for three more suspects.

Pharr police announced on June 19 that Erik Daniel Garza, 28, was charged with the murder of Jose Eduardo Morales, 25,

Two suspects entered a residence on June 18 by force and demanded drugs before firing shots, according to police. Multiple shots were fired inside the home, leaving one of the suspects dead, and one of the residents suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Morales was identified as an intruder who was killed, Chief Andy Harvey said during a press conference.

The Pharr Police Department identified three other persons of interest in the investigation: Sixto Gonzalez, 24; Leslie Denise Medina, 26; and Dereck Medina, 27.

Police searched the home where the shooting happened and found 14 guns, including rifles, shotguns and handguns, according to police. There was also a large amount of ammunition in the home.
