Man Accused Of Beating His Roommate To Death During Disturbance, Texas Cops Say

A disturbance between roommates ended when one “severely” beat the other to death, authorities said.

Last week, police in Austin, Texas, announced the arrest of Cristo Jesus Rodriguez, 24. He was charged in connection to the death of George Kenneth Emery.

Around 11 p.m. on Aug. 1, officers responded to a disturbance at a home.

A caller said Rodriguez hit his roommate and then left the area, police said.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Emery on the ground, badly beaten and unresponsive, police said. Emery was pronounced dead at the scene. He had injuries to his head, arms and hands.

Investigators say there was a disturbance between the roommates that led Rodriguez to beat Emery, according to police.

The next day, officers arrested Rodriguez and charged him with first-degree murder.
