Argument Between Roommates In Texas Ends In Fatal Shooting: Cops
Inside a Texas home, an argument turned into a fight and ended when one roommate shot the other to death, police said.
Around noon on April 3, the Kerr County Sheriff’s Office in Texas responded to a home for a reported shooting. When deputies arrived, they found Dennis Allen Crawford Jr., 57, had been shot.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
An argument between the two began in the morning and escalated into a fight. A shot was fired at close range by Brad Rick Way, 52, according to the sheriff’s office.
Investigators said alcohol may have played a factor in the shooting.
The two were roommates, but police have not said what led to the argument.
Way was charged with murder and was booked into jail. No bond has been set in his case, according to the sheriff’s office.
“We are saddened by this senseless loss of life in our county,” said Sheriff Larry Leitha. “All too often, disagreements escalate and spin out of control. In this case, either party could have walked away and diffused the situation before lethal force was used. This outcome did not need to happen. We offer our condolences to the families involved and thank the Texas Rangers for their assistance in evidence gathering and investigation.”
