Texas Man called 911 moments after shooting, killing his wife, police said
An Austin, Texas, man called 911 moments after shooting during a domestic dispute, police said. Now, he faces murder accusations.
Two children were present when the shooting happened, but they were not hurt, authorities added.
James Marcus Neves, 54, was charged with first-degree murder and booked into Travis County Jail. He is being held on $750,000 bond.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 26, Neves called 911 to say he shot his wife during the disturbance, according to Austin police. Officers and EMS responded to the scene and found Vanessa Neves, 41, with a gunshot wound.
They tried life-saving measures but were unsuccessful, according to Austin police. Vanessa Neves was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators did not detail the nature of the domestic dispute.
