Tip line call helps police find suspect in month-old fatal shooting, Texas cops say
A 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection to the murder of a person found shot to death in a car months ago, according to police.
On Feb. 21, police arrested Bryan Garcia in connection to a November murder in Lubbock, Texas, authorities said.
Police said a tip through a crime line helped lead them to the shooting suspect.
On Nov. 12, Lubbock police responded to Loyola Street for a shot fired call. While on the way, police got additional calls about a shooting on North University Avenue and a vehicle stopped.
Officers found the vehicle and the victim inside with a gunshot wound, according to Lubbock police. The victim was identified as Paul Saiz.
A passenger tried to remove Saiz from the driver’s seat, according to an arrest report obtained by KCBD. There was also ammo found around the Saiz’ car.
Police have not said what led to the shooting or if Garcia knew Saiz.
