Newly-hired high school science teacher accused of inappropriate relationship with student
A teacher in Texas is accused of an inappropriate relationship with a student and now faces a criminal charge.
This week, deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in Texas arrested Bonnie Guess Mazock, 36, in connection to the case. She was charged with indecency with a child.
On Jan. 12, detectives started an investigation between the teacher and the student, according to the sheriff’s office. The victim’s family and friends reported the suspect in the case was Mazock.
Police investigated and then arrested the teacher.
Investigators did not reveal the victim’s age or gender. They also did not detail what evidence they uncovered to convince them a crime occurred.
According to KPRC, Mazock is a high school science teacher with the Conroe Independent School District. The Oak Ridge High School principal provided information to parents about the incident.
“I want to assure you that Oak Ridge High School and Conroe ISD are committed to providing a safe learning environment for your children,” a letter read, according to KPRC.
Mazock has been placed on administrative leave, and she was hired at the school this year.
