An 18-year-old man’s body was found in Texas and now police said six people have been arrested in connection to his death.
Around midnight on Nov. 9, the Plano Police Department said they responded to an area in Plano, Texas, where they saw people fleeing the scene on foot.
Officials said evidence confirmed there was gunfire.
Around 7 a.m. on Nov. 9, authorities said a body was found one block north of where the officers initially responded. The person was identified as 18-year-old Malakai McAfee.
On Nov. 12, detectives said six people were arrested in connection with McAfee’s death. Sonja Katerina Bohanon, 18, was booked into the Collin County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond. Also, 19-year-old Davante Amon Polk, 19-year-old Imani Hawley and 20-year-old Alvin Lee Kirk, Jr. were all booked into the Tarrant County Corrections Center under a $400,000 bond each.
Both 19-year-old Bradon Awah Nagah and 17-year-old Larry Donnel Smith were already in a Dallas County detention facility on other charges at the time of this new arrest, police said. They both are under a $500,000 bond.
All six are facing murder charges, as the investigation into the incident is still ongoing, officials said.
Police have not said what led to the shooting or why half-dozen people were charged in connection to the death.
