18-year-old stabbed his mother to death on Thanksgiving in Georgia, police said

An 18-year-old man is accused of killing his mother during a domestic dispute on Thanksgiving, police said.

Around noon, officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a domestic assault in Lawrenceville, Georgia. When officers arrived, they found a dead woman.

The victim was identified as Marcia Chance, 42, and she died from stab wounds, according to Gwinnett County police.

Officers arrested her son, Varia Hibbert, 18, in connection to her death. He was charged with felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony. He is being held at the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Detectives are still working to determine a motive in the killing, police said.
