A traffic stop in Texas took a crazy turn, as it led police in Michigan to find a dead woman’s body, authorities said. Now, the driver faces murder allegations.
On Oct. 4, police in Texas said they made a traffic stop and the driver was Brandon Eric Wilson.
During the traffic stop, Wilson made statements to the police that made them contact the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in Michigan, officials said. Police did not release the nature of the statements.
The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at a home in Genoa Township, Michigan, where they found a dead woman, according to authorities.
“Upon further investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a body of a deceased female was located. The Defendant (Wilson) is in custody in Texas and an arrest warrant has been authorized,” Livingston County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Carolyn Henry said and the Livingston Daily reported.
Officials said it was unclear on why Wilson was in Texas at the time of the traffic stop. The victim's name has not been released.
Wilson was charged with murder on Oct. 5, but the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate, officials said.
