A South Carolina Suspect Arranged a Late-Night Meeting With a Man. Then, He Intentionally Crashed His Truck Into Him and Fled, Cops Say.
A man in South Carolina was arrested for murder after he crashed his vehicle into another man on purpose, authorities said.
Around 1:34 a.m., deputies in Greenwood found 46-year-old Kenneth Davis McClendon lying outside a vehicle in Greenwood. He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, WHNS reported.
A second vehicle involved in the deadly crash was no longer at the scene and deputies launched an investigation, according to the Greenwood County Sheriff’s Office.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by WHNS, William Gray Ackerman had arranged a meeting at the location with McClendon.
Ackerman then, according to the warrant, intentionally crashed his 2019 Ford F250 into McClendon.
The suspect was located at a nearby home and taken into custody, the sheriff’s office said.
The investigation is ongoing.
