Massachusetts Truck Driver Accused Of Killing Passenger, Dumping Body In Georgia
A Massachusetts long-haul truck driver is behind bars after he allegedly murdered a woman and dumped her body in Georgia before heading to Indiana, authorities said.
On Oct. 8, deputies with the Camden County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia located the body of a woman in a wooded area near a Roadie’s Chevron truck stop in Woodbine, WJXT reported.
The victim was later identified as Jessica Goodrich, 46, of Worcester, Massachusetts.
An investigation determined Goodrich had been a passenger in the truck of Jason Michael Palmer, 45, of Littleton, Massachusetts.
Federal marshals recently arrested Palmer in Indiana after deputies in Camden County, Georgia, tipped them off to the location of his tractor trailer at a gas station in Cambridge City.
Deputies from Camden County traveled from Georgia to Indiana to continue their investigation into Goodrich’s murder.
Palmer faces multiple charges, including murder, aggravated assault, and concealing a death.
The victim’s sister told WJXT that Goodrich and Palmer had a rocky history and were in an on-again, off-again relationship.
“It was an abusive relationship between both of them,” Pamela Shays said, noting Palmer called her as well as Goodrich’s adult son shortly before the victim's body was found.
“He told me that he was going to put my sister on a plane and send her back home,” Shays said.
