'I killed that mother******': Man admits to beating stepfather to death, authorities say
It didn't take long for police to find a murder suspect as when they arrived on scene, a man allegedly told officers, "I killed that mother******."
Tulsa police arrested Som Sai Hakchareun on April 5 on a charge of first-degree murder. He is now being held in an Oklahoma jail.
Around 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a home and found Edward Johnson, 70, dead in the front yard, according to Tulsa police. It appeared Johnson was severely beaten to death.
Johnson's stepson, Hakchareun, admitted he got in a fight with Johnson, then said he killed his stepfather, according to police.
The suspect also told detectives the killing happened on April 4, then he moved and hid the body along the side of the house, according to police.
He then moved the body again before police arrived and staged the crime scene.
First-degree murder in Oklahoma can be punished by death or life in prison.
