Two Men Charged In Connection To Drive-By Shooting In North Carolina

Two North Carolina men who are suspected of participating in a drive-by shooting were arrested, police announced Dec. 30.
According to WLOS, Maynor Javier Yanes Basquez, 34, of Longview, North Carolina, was arrested on Oct. 11 at his home, where police seized a rifle and ammunition that were believed to be used in the shooting. On Oct. 19, police arrested Chad Michael Sampson, 27, of Hickory, North Carolina.
Both were charged with attempted murder in connection to a shooting on Oct. 10. That day, police were called to a home in the Nebo community after two women reported that someone had fired several shots into their home while they were sleeping.
On scene, police recovered several high-powered rifle casing and projectiles, according to WLOS.
Basquez is in the custody of Catawba County, while Sampson is in the custody of Burke County.
