Halloween party turns deadly when 20-year-old man allegedly shoots 21-year-old partygoer
An argument at a Halloween party ended with a 21-year-old dead and 20-year-old facing murder charges, Utah police said.
Roy Anthony Duran turned himself in to police in Clearfield, Utah, on Oct. 25. He was then taken to the Salt Lake City police for questioning.
Around 1:20 a.m. Oct. 24, Salt Lake City police responded to a shooting and found Isaiah Valerio in critical condition, according to authorities.
Officers started to perform first aid, but paramedics confirmed that the 21-year-old was dead, according to Salt Lake City police.
Several witnesses said Duran shot Valerio while attending a warehouse Halloween party and then fled the area, according to police. Duran was allegedly involved in an argument with several people before the shooting.
A witness also said Duran punched Valerio in the head before opening fire.
Police named Duran as a suspect and asked for the public’s help finding him. Police are still asking anyone with information to call (801) 799-3000.
