Law enforcement officials in Utah say a couple has been arrested after their teenage daughter called police to report that she was being raped by her father.
According to a police booking affidavit obtained by KSL, the victim contacted Provo police on March 7 to report “her father had been raping her for the last year a half.”
Officers questioned the couple — the teen’s stepfather and mother — and they admitted to having sex with the teen.
The couple, both in their 30s, were jailed for investigation of forcible sexual abuse, forcible sodomy, and object rape. The stepfather is also being investigated for rape, officials said.
The arrest affidavit states the stepfather “explained that a year ago he and the victim’s mother learned that the victim was wanting to meet and have sex with strangers.”
The stepfather said that “together with his wife, they decided that teaching the victim about sex, and engaging in sexual acts with the victim would be safer for her than having sex with strangers.”
