Oklahoma Man Charged With Double Homicide In Connection With Valentine’s Day Shooting Of Couple In Car: Cops
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the double homicide of a couple in Oklahoma City last Valentine’s Day, and more people may be involved, authorities said.
David Shatswell, 51, faces two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Kayla Yates and Raymond Paddyaker on Feb. 14, 2022, KFOR reported.
According to the Oklahoma City Police Department, the victims were both shot to death while inside Paddyaker’s vehicle.
Officers reportedly detained a person following the incident and questioned several more but detectives made no arrests at the time of the double homicide.
Shatswell was already behind bars when charged with the slayings after he was convicted of a possession of a firearm after felony conviction charge.
The victim’s mother, Winona Blossom, told KFOR her son, Paddyaker, was a “good boy” who loved her. “It is so hard. Because I [never] dreamed I would be burying my child."
Police have not revealed a motive for the shooting.
