Super 8 Motel employee in critical condition after man attacks her, Virginia police say

A Virginia man allegedly attacked a female motel employee, leaving her unconscious and with severe wounds, law enforcement said.

Just after 5 a.m. on June 26, officers responded to multiple reports from a Super 8 Motel in Harrisonburg, Virginia, about a disorderly conduct in progress.

According to the Harrisonburg Police Department, callers said a man on the third floor of the property attacked the woman.

At the scene, police said, Eris Rubi Castillo, 27, “was extremely combative with officers and was ultimately taken into custody after a successful Taser deployment.”

Police then discovered the victim, a motel employee. Emergency responders rushed her to the University of Virginia Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition.

Castillo faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, and property damage.

Harrisonburg police said additional charges are pending and ask anyone with information about the case to contact investigators at (540) 434-4436.
