A man was assaulted at a Virginia gas station and later died from his injuries. Police say a teen is to blame and have charged the 19-year-old with murder.
Around 11 p.m. June 15, the Accomack County Sheriff's Office received a report that a man was assaulted at the Onley Royal Farms, officials said.
When deputies arrived, they found David Anthony McCain, 30, sitting unresponsive in a vehicle.
McCain was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was taken to the Norfolk Medical Examiner’s Office so the cause of death could be determined, authorities said.
An investigation started and it led to warrants being issued for Xzaviyor Snead, 19, Delmarva Now reported. Police have not said if Snead knew the victim or released a possible motive for the assault.
Snead was charged with first-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, police said.
He is currently being held at the Accomack County Jail without bond, authorities said.
