Memorial Day Shooting In Virginia Leaves One Person Dead, Teen In Cuffs
A 19-year-old is accused of killing a 57-year-old man in a shooting that police say was domestic-related.
On May 30, police in Suffolk, Virginia, responded to a shooting around 4:10 p.m. on Hunter Street. When officers arrived, they found a victim dead at the scene.
The victim was later identified as Timothy Gene Harper, 57, police said.
A person of interest was taken into custody at the scene. The suspect was later identified as Kaevon Dionte Stowes. 19.
Police have not detailed the relationship between the two men but described the shooting as domestic-related. A motive was not released.
Stowes was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
